Eleven From Women's Swimming & Diving Earn 2026 NESCAC Recognition

MEDFORD, MA (February 16, 2026) - Eleven members of the Tufts University women's swimming & diving team were recognized following the conclusion of the 2026 NESCAC Championships on Sunday.

Tufts senor Madeleine Dunn was named NESCAC Swimmer of the Year after winning the 500, 1000 and 1650 freestyle events at the conference championship. She also swam the lead leg for the Jumbos' 800 freestyle relay that was third at the meet. She is Tufts' first-ever Swimmer of the Year in the 24-year history of the award.

A seven-time individual champion at the NESCAC Championships over her career, Dunn also won the NESCAC Career High-Points Swimmer award for the 355 points she scored in four conference championships since 2023. Dunn was also one of 11 Jumbos to earn 2026 All-Conference awards for placing among the top three in an event.

The other Jumbos earning the recognition are senior Isa Chambers, junior Elena Harrison, first-year Alec Lazorisak, first-year Cloe Nader, senior Katharine Skelly, sophomore Angel Smyrniou, junior Sydney Stasz, sophomore Sweeney Su and senior Quinci Wheeler.

Three Jumbos had top-three finishes in four events at the conference meet at Wesleyan February 12-15. In addition to Dunn (three distance freestyles and 800 free relay), Wheeler earned the honors for the 200 and 800 freestyle relays as well as the 200 and 400 medley relays. Stasz was top three in the 50 and 100 breaststrokes and with the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

Harrison, Lazorisak, Skelly and Smyrniou are All-Conference recipients for three events. Harrison was top three for the 200 and 400 medley relays as well as the 800 free relay. Lazorisak did it in the 50 freestyle and with the 200 and 400 free relays. Skelly's part in the 200 and 400 free relays and the 200 medley relay were All-Conference efforts. Smyrniou's three were the 50 butterfly and the 200 and 400 medley relays.

All-Conference in two events went to Chambers (200 free relay and 400 medley relay) and Nader (1000 and 1653 freestyles), while Su's achievement came with the 800 free relay.

This is the fourth straight year that Dunn and Wheeler have earned All-Conference awards. Chambers, Harrison and Stasz are recognized for the third time, while Skelly and Smyrniou are All-Conference for the second time. Lazorisak, Nader and Su are first-time All-Conference honorees.

Tufts senior diver Malia Leung also earned the NESCAC Career High-Points Diver award her 193 points scored at the 2023-26 meets. Tufts' Brad Snodgrass was voted NESCAC Diving Coach of the Year for the third time as well. The Jumbos had three divers score in the top eight for the three-meter event, and two in the top nine for one-meter.
