MEDFORD, MA (February 27, 2026) - Nine Tufts University swimmers have qualified to compete at the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Championships in Indianapolis March 18-21.
The Jumbos who posted national qualifying times this season are senior
Armaan Sikka, juniors
Will Kaminski,
Jack Nussbaum,
Rafae Shafi and
Jan Springer, sophomores
Max Gerke and
Ron Lyubman and freshmen
Nico Ogawa and
Isaac Shang.
Sikka has now qualified for the NCAA meet in all four of his seasons at Tufts. Shafi qualified for the third straight season, while Kaminski, Lyubman and Nussbaum are national qualifiers for the second time. Gerke, Ogawa, Shang and Springer will make their first trip to NCAA's.
The Jumbo 200 freestyle relay is the team's highest seed with their 1:19.62 time that broke the school record at the NESCAC Championships. The qualifying foursome is Shang, Kaminski, Gerke and Sikka. The highest individual seed entering NCAA's for the Jumbos is Shafae's 15:39.56 in the 1650 freestyle, which is 11th. The Jumbos will have entries in 13 of the 18 swimming events overall.
Tufts will look to add divers to its NCAA roster over the weekend. Jumbo juniors
Elias Brandt and
Jay Wilkinson are competing at the NCAA Diving Regional held at Connecticut College on Friday and Saturday, from which four divers will move on to Nationals.
