NEW LONDON, CT (February 28, 2026) – Senior
Malia Leung placed eighth in the three-meter diving event at the NCAA Region 3 Championships held today at Connecticut College.
Leung compiled a score of 437.10 for her 11 dives today. She finished strong by earning a 48.00 score in her final attempt, a Back 1 1/2 Somersault 1 1/2 Twist Free. Earlier in her program, she achieved a 46.80 score on a Forward 2 1/2 Somersault Pike.
Based on results from the Connecticut College Regional, seven divers will earn berths to the 2026 NCAA Division III Championships March 18-21 in Indianapolis. MIT's Fiora Beratahani won both events this weekend, including today's three-meter title with a 485.90 score.
Unofficially, Leung does not appear to be in position to earn one of the NCAA berths. However, she is on the bubble to potentially get one of the spots as an alternate for the region. She qualified for the NCAA Diving Regional four straight years for the Jumbos.
Junior
Arya Gupta also competed at the Regional for Tufts. Today she withdrew after her first dive.
On Friday, the NCAA announced 13 Jumbo swimmers had qualified for the national meet which is the next time the Tufts team will be in action.
