MEDFORD, Mass. (February 2, 2026) — Tufts University men's basketball senior Scott Gyimesi has been named to the 2026 Trevor Hudgins Award Top 25 Watch List, as announced by Small College Basketball and the National Awards Committee.

The Trevor Hudgins Award recognizes the top senior player in Small College Basketball, honoring overall career performance, team success, individual achievements, and character. Gyimesi is one of just 25 student-athletes nationwide selected for the watch list and represents Tufts among an elite group of players who have competed exclusively at the small college level.

Gyimesi has been a driving force behind a dominant 2025–26 campaign for the Tufts Jumbos, emerging as one of the most consistent and impactful players in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). Through 20 games this season, Gyimesi has started every contest and is averaging 15.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game while logging 30.8 minutes per outing, shooting 36.1 percent from three-point range, and 73.0 percent from the free-throw line. His steady two-way presence has been a key factor in Tufts' success on both ends of the floor, anchoring the front court while providing reliable scoring in high-leverage moments.

Gyimesi has been a cornerstone of the Jumbos program throughout his career, consistently producing at a high level in the NESCAC. As a junior, he appeared in 28 games, logging 850 minutes, and averaged 15.3 points per game. He totaled 429 points, converting 182 field goals, 20 three-pointers, and 45 free throws, emerging as one of the conference's most reliable and efficient scoring options.

During his Sophomore season, Gyimesi started all 29 games for Tufts and averaged 13.1 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game, while leading the NESCAC in field goal percentage (58.2%). He recorded multiple double-doubles, including an 11-point, 10-rebound performance in the NCAA Tournament second-round game against NYU, and posted season highs of 23 points against Emmanuel and 19 rebounds versus Emerson.

Gyimesi also made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2022–23, appearing in 18 games while shooting 60.9 percent from the field. His early contributions helped establish him as a key presence in the Tufts frontcourt.

Named in honor of Northwest Missouri State legend Trevor Hudgins, the award celebrates a player's full collegiate body of work. Hudgins led the Bearcats to three consecutive NCAA Division II National Championships and was a two-time NCAA Division II Player of the Year.
