MEDFORD, MA (March 24, 2026) - Tufts University seniors
Joshua Bernstein,
Scott Gyimesi and
Sidney Wooten have earned spots on the 2026 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must have participated in at least 90 percent of the team's games or started at least two-thirds of the team's contests. A minimum grade point average of 3.50 is required.
Bernstein (computer science major), Gyimesi (economics) and Wooten (psychology) were all key contributors to head coach
Brandon Linton's Tufts team that made a run to th NCAA "Elite 8" and finished with a 23-6 record this season.
Gyimesi is a now a three-time honoree on the Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team. Last year, he was honored on the Academic All- America® second team in Division III,
The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Select Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on April 14, 2025.
