BOSTON, MA (February 6, 2026) - Sophomore
Ron Lyubman swam the fastest 500 freestyle time in NESCAC so far this season as the Tufts University men's swimming & diving team started at the Boston Winter Open (BWO) hosted by Boston University on Friday evening.
Lyubman's 4:29.98 time won the race at BU, which included mostly Division I competitors. The time is under the NCAA B cut for the 500 free and is also a top 10 national mark as of Friday night. Sophomore
Ryan Manson's 4:40.46 also in the 500 free was his PR, a top-10 conference mark and earned fifth place tonight.

Timmy Brady had another strong performance for the Jumbos tonight, swimming a 1:52.38 time in the 200 individual medley. Sixth out of 19 swimmers at BU, the time is his PR, the team's season-best and ranks second in NESCAC as of Friday night.
Seven Jumbos swam in the 50 freestyle tonight, with junior
Joshua Harrison leading the group with a time of 21.68 seconds. He was 15th out of 31 in the event.
Tufts also swam a handful of time trials tonight. Freshman
Luke Davis had the most significant result, with his 50 backstroke PR of 24.12 seconds earning a spot among the NESCAC top 20.
Saturday at the BWO will be busy for the Jumbos, with a pair of sessions starting at 12 Noon and 6:00 PM along with more time trials opportunities.
