Timmy Brady in the 400 individual medley and junior diver
Jay Wilkinson in the three-meter event highlighted day two of the Boston Winter Open for the Tufts men's swimming & diving team on Saturday.
Brady's 4:00.70 time is the team's season-best in the event, ranks second in NESCAC as of Saturday evening and is a top 25 national mark as well. The time also places Brady well into the Tufts all-time top 10 for the event. He also led Tufts and was sixth overall in the 200 breaststroke with a 2:04.94 finish tonight.
Wilkinson won the three-meter diving event on Saturday afternoon with a 350.00 score for six dives that is well beyond the 285 national qualifying requirement. The score is also Wilkinson's career-best for six dives in three-meter and ranks him third all-time among Jumbo divers.
Two swimming sessions, the three-meter diving competition and time trials were held on Saturday.
In the evening's time trials, Tufts sophomore
Alp Hosgor swam a 100 butterfly PR of 49.49 seconds that earns him a spot in Tufts' all-time top 10.
Freshman
Luke Davis notched three PR's today. In the afternoon, his 51.85 in the 100 backstroke and then a 24.16 leading off the 200 medley relay with a 50 backstroke leg are both lifetime bests. This evening, he swam 1:54.39 in the 200 backstroke for another personal-best time.
Other PR's on Saturday were posted by sophomore
Ron Lyubman in the 100 butterfly (50.45) and sophomore
Ryan Manson in the 100 freestyle (47.26).
The Jumbos are idle for two weeks before heading to the 2026 NESCAC Championships to be hosted by Colby College February 19-22.
