INDIANAPOLIS – Tufts University senior
Madeleine Dunn earned All-American honors with a fifth-place finish in the 500 freestyle, and the Jumbos' 400 medley relay broke the school record on the opening day of the NCAA Division III Women's Swimming & Diving Championships Wednesday.
Dunn advanced to the NCAA championship final in the 500 free with a 4:53.30 preliminary mark (sixth) on Wednesday morning. She then dropped 93 seconds off that time for a 4:51.97 mark that was fifth in the final. It's the best NCAA finish ever in the event for the Tufts women, as well as Dunn's highest NCAA finish in any event. She earns All-American honors, her third first team award and ninth overall (six honorable mention).

Sydney Stasz, junior Elena Harris and senior
Quinci Wheeler earned a 3:43.82 time that broke the school record and finished 10th in the event. They knocked 0.05 off the former school record of 3:43.87 set in 2024. The Tufts foursome had made the consolation final with their 3:44.77 preliminary time. The four Jumbos receive honorable mention All-American awards. It's the first national honor for Davis, the fourth for Stasz (three honorable mention), the third for Harrison (two honorable mention) and the 10th for Wheeler (seven honorable mention).
With the 28 team points scored by Dunn and the 400 medley relay today, Tufts is tied for ninth place in the team standings after four events.
Today's NCAA 200 individual medley contest saw Tufts' Stasz place 24th with her 2:05.44 preliminary time. She went out in a 27.50 mark for the 50 butterfly that was her lifetime best. Senior
Madison Hagberg timed a lifetime best of 2:06.62 for the 200 IM. Her 33rd place finish in the preliminaries was 26 spots up from her seed.
First-year
Alec Lazorisak swam 23.54 seconds to place 30th in the 50 freestyle Wednesday morning. Davis had a 24.10 lifetime best that was 50th in the 50 free preliminaries. First-year
Cloe Nader also raced in the 500 freestyle, posting a 5:12.67 mark for 43rd place.
The Jumbos have entries in the 200 freestyle, the 100 butterfly, the 400 individual medley and the 200 freestyle relay on Thursday at the NCAA Championships held at IU Natatorium.
