MEDFORD, MA (March 2, 2026) – Tufts University junior diver
Jay Wilkinson was officially announced today as one of the 24 entries into the NCAA Division III Men's Swimming & Diving Championships coming up later this month.
Tufts junior diver
Elias Brandt was also announced as the third alternate for NCAA Region 3.
Wilkinson won the one-meter competition at the NCAA Region 3 Diving Championships on Saturday, earning an automatic berth into the national championships. He compiled a 479.55 score for the one-meter victory, while also finishing fourth in the three-meter event on Friday (469.45).
This will be the second NCAA national appearance for Wilkinson. He qualified as a freshman in 2024 and finished 16th in three-meter to earn Honorable Mention All-American recognition. He was also 19th in one-meter at the 2024 NCAA's.
Wilkinson won the NESCAC one-meter championship this season with a 522.70 score. During the regular-season, he amassed a 540.00 total in one-meter and 531.43 in three-meter in Tufts' dual meet against MIT on January 24.
The NCAA Division III Championship meet is scheduled for March 18-21 at IU Natatorium on the campus of IU Indianapolis. The men's three-meter diving event will take place on Wednesday (Mar. 18) that week, while the men's one-meter competition is set for Friday (Mar. 20).
Brandt qualified as an alternate based upon his sixth-place finish (447.05) in the three-meter event at the Regional. He would become eligible for NCAA's if three of the qualified divers from Region 3 withdrew for any reason. Brandt qualified as an alternate last year as well, but did not attend the meet.
On February 27, nine Tufts men's swimmers received berths to the national championship meet. Wilkinson's addition gives the Jumbos 10 total qualifiers.
