Old Takes Down NESCAC Player of the Week Honors Monday

MEDFORD, MA (March 23, 2026) -- The Tufts University men's lacrosse team extended its win streak to 35 with two more wins this past weekend, much in part to the stellar play in net by sophomore Jack Old who was named as the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Week Monday afternoon by the conference office.

Old helped Tufts to a 2-0 week, extending the Jumbos' win streak to 35 games. Old made 29 saves while allowing only 12 goals in a pair of wins over Trinity and No. 7 Stevens. He posted a .707 save percentage for the week, while adding seven ground balls. Against Trinity, Old tallied 14 stops in the cage and followed that up with 15 saves and five goals allowed against No. 7 Stevens in an 18-7 win.

For the season, Old leads the NESCAC in goals against average at 6.77 while his save percentage is by far the top mark in the league at 68.3 percent.

He joins Conner Garzone and Mason Pollack as the only goalkeepers to earn the honor for the Jumbos since the 2015 season. Both picked up the award just once in their careers, with Garzone earning the award as the final Player of the Week honor of the 2025 season. Tufts has earned 11 weekly awards since the start of the 2022 season.

Tufts will get back into NESCAC action this Saturday, traveling to Middlebury College for a 2 p.m. face-off with the Panthers in Middlebury, VT.
