CONYERS, GA (April 18, 2026) – The Tufts University men's golf team ranked seventh in a stack field with five top 10 ranked teams after day one of the Emory University Invitational at the Cherokee Run Golf Club in Conyers, Georgia.
JP Noone led the way for the Jumbos with a ten over par total through the first 36 holes of play. The junior carded a five over par score in both rounds with six total birdies throughout the day. Noone sits in 24th place individually in the field of 81 golfers.
Holden Kittelberger,
Brendan Roy, and
Jason Zawtocki, who is competing independently, each finished with twelve over par totals after day one to rank t-33rd individually. Roy collected a solid stroke total of 78 in the opening round before replicating the same six over par score on the second 18 of the day. Zawtocki shot seven over par through the first 18 holes before cutting three strokes off his scorecard in round two with a stroke total of 77. Kittelberger struggled on the morning 18 with a 10 over par score, but responded strongly with a two over par finish in the afternoon.
Nick McCabe captured a first day total of 15 over par. McCabe responded to a 12 over par opening round score with an impressive three over par score in round two. McCabe put together 13 par or better hole in his second round with no double bogeys on what was proven to be a difficult course.
Brooks Cahill-Sanidas rounded out the lineup for the Jumbos with a 17 over par opening day total. The sophomore shot nine over par through the opening eighteen with nine par or better holes. Cahill-Sanidas finished off his day with a slightly better score in the middle round of eight over par to end the first day in 49th place individually.
Tufts will gear up for round two and look to tighten the gap between seventh and sixth with one round left to play tomorrow.
