CONYERS, GA (April 19, 2026) – The Tufts University men's golf team finished in seventh place out of a 15 team field filled with some of the stronger teams in division three in the Emory University Invitational. The three-round event took place at the Cherokee Run Golf Club in Conyers, Georgia.
Holden Kittelberger highlighted the Jumbo crew with a two over par scorecard in the final round. Kittelberger started his day with an even par mark through the front nine with an eagle on the eight hole. The senior picked up two bogeys in the first three holes of the back nine before ending with six straight pars to capture a solid stroke total of 74 to finished 22nd individually.
JP Noone captured a top 30 individual finish as well in 30th after shooting seven over par in the third round. Noone was three over (39) through the opening half of his round before shooting four over on the back half with a birdie and five pars.
Nick McCabe started off the final day with three consecutive pars before four straight bogey or worse holes brought him to a stroke total on 41 on his first nine holes. The junior opened his back nine stretch with a bogey and a double bogey followed by three birdies and two pars in the next six holes to capture a 12 over par total. McCabe placed 42nd individually.
Brendan Roy shot 12 over par on day three to finish 48th individually. Roy could not find his groove on the front with six bogey or worse holes, but completely flipped the script on the back nine with seven pars on the back.
Brooks Cahill-Sanidas filled out the squad with a 60th place finish individually in the event. The sophomore golfer struggled on the first nine, but finished well with a birdie and three pars in his final four holes.
Jason Zawtocki had an excellent weekend of independent competition, shooting an impressive 16 over par score across the 54 hole invitational. The first year carded four straight pars to finish off the first nine holes with an even 40 stroke total. Zawtocki then got hot on the back after a bogey on the 10th hole, notching two birdies and five pars in the final eight holes.
Tufts finished just three strokes behind Emory (B), who held a sizable gap after the first two rounds. The Jumbos held their own against some of the toughest competition in the country with the seventh place finish. NESCAC Championships begin next weekend at the Tumble Brook Country Club in East Haddam, Connecticut.
