Thursday is a busy first day with five Jumbos in action. Seniors
Quinn Hampson and
Cullen McCaleb will be the first Jumbos to compete with the 1500 meters preliminaries at 4:50 PM Eastern Time (EST). Seniors
Josh Wilkie and
Cam McLeod will follow in the 400-meter hurdles preliminaries on Friday at 5:25 PM EST. Junior
Harris Gulbransen is in the last event of Thursday's NCAA schedule with the 10,000 meters final at 8:15 PM EST.
Hampson and McCaleb will be looking to reach the 1500 final, scheduled for Saturday at 1:35 PM. Hampson is seeded eighth in the 22-man race with his 3:46.29 time, and McCaleb is 10th (3:47.09). Hampson will make his first individual NCAA appearance and second overall, having run with the 10th-place distance medley relay (DMR) which earned second team All-American honors at the NCAA Indoor meet in March. McCaleb was also part of that DMR, receiving a second team All-American accolade, and ran in the 3000 meters at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Championships. Both also have NCAA Cross Country Championship experience, with McCaleb earning All-American honors last fall.
Wilkie and McLeod will seek finals berths in the 400 hurdles, which is set for 3:25 PM EST on Saturday. Wilkie is ranked eighth in the NCAA field (52.26) and McLeod is 21st (52.84). On Friday, Wilkie will be the lone Jumbo to compete when he has the #10 mark (14.10) in the 110-meter hurdles preliminaries at 4:25 PM. The final is on Saturday at 2 PM. The most experienced NCAA competitor for the Tufts men, Wilkie earned his fourth career NCAA berth (indoors and outdoors). He has a pair of second team All-American honors. McLeod ran with the 2026 DMR at NCAA indoors for his first national championship appearance and a second team All-American award.
Gulbransen is seeded 20th for the 10K with his 29:53.67 mark. He is at NCAA's for the second time, including Indoors this past March when he was ninth in the 5000 meters for a second team All-American finish. He was a cross country All-American in the fall.
Senior
Randy Hamilton earned his spot in the NCAA javelin throw competition with a 63.77m (209'3") mark which ranks 11th for the event. The preliminaries and finals will be on Saturday at 11 AM. Hamilton is at NCAA's for the first time.
This group will look to end the Tufts run of qualifying for NCAA's, but not scoring as a team since the 2024 outdoor meet.
