2026 Tufts University Men's Golf Season Preview

MEDFORD, MA (September 10, 2026) – The Tufts University men's golf squad as well as head coach Stephen Doyle are ready to hit the course for the 2026 fall season.
 
Doyle took over as the leader of the Jumbos in the fall of 2025 and led Tufts to four top three team finishes last season, including a runner-up finish in the 2026 NESCAC Championship.
 
In the fall of last season, the Brown and Blue registered a second place team finish out of eight teams in the Hamilton College Fall Invitational. The Jumbos also picked up a third place finish out of 17 teams in the Bowdoin College Invitational.
 
Some fresh faces will join this Jumbo golf crew as seven new members hope to make immediate impacts with the team. First year golfers Achal Agnihotri, Matthew Maurice, Eddie Molloy III, and Bo Schlosser will accompany junior transfer William Ainsworth as the new talents will look to fuel success within the lineup.
 
Brendan Roy will return for his senior season to highlight the Tufts' returners. Roy ended last season with a strong performance in the NESCAC Championships to capture a fourth place individual finish out of 50 golfers and help the Jumbos claim second place as a team. Roy held a 74.34 scoring average in 20 total rounds played across eight tournament appearances and was ranked 19^th in the region. The senior put together his best scoring performance of the season with a four over par total in the three round Williams Fall Invitational.
 
JP Noone returns to Medford for his senior season as well as he looks to make more key contributions in the fall of 2026. Noone earned two top 10 individual finishes during the 2025-26 season with a fifth place finish in the Hamilton College Invitational, and a ninth place ending in the Swarthmore Invitational and capped off the season with a scoring average of 74.84. Noone finished 2025 as the 27^th ranked golfer in the region with 20 total rounds played in eight tournament competitions.
 
Jason Zawtocki will look to build off of his standout rookie season after reeling in two top 10 individual finishes in six tournament appearances. Zawtocki's best round of the season came with a seventh place individual finish out of 96 golfers in the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational. Zawtocki ended 2025 as the 34^th ranked golfer in the region with a stroke average of 75.99 in 15 total rounds played.
 
Senior Nick McCabe played in eight events for the Blue and Brown last season and captured a 13th place individual ranking out of 79 golfers in the Williams Fall Invitational. McCabe held an eight over par total in the three round event with an even par score of 71 on day one. McCabe capped off last year as the 66th ranked golfer in the region with 20 total rounds completed.
 
Junior Brooks Cahill-Sanidas will also return to Jumbo lineup, making the depth of this group strong. Cahill-Sanidas made six event appearances for Tufts last season, with his best individual finish coming in the Hamilton College Invitational. Brooks tied for seventh individually out of 42 golfers and shot an impressive one over par 73 in the opening round. The junior ended the spring as the 70th ranked golfer in the region with a 76.61 adjusted scoring average.
 
Ainsworth joins the Jumbos after spending the previous two years at Washington & Jefferson College, where he earned All-PAC First Team in 2025-26 and helped the Presidents to a second place finish in the PAC Championships.
 
Senior Keegan Carnell along with juniors Graham Ellis, Sebastian Huet, and sophomore Ben Thomson round out the roster as they will look to contribute to the team success on the links.
 
The Jumbos will open their 2026 fall schedule with a visit to Ralph Myre Golf Course in Middlebury, Vermont to compete in the Duke Nelson Invitational. Tufts will then travel to the Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Massachusetts for the Williams College Fall Invitational before heading back north to Brunswick Golf Course in Brunswick, Maine for the Bowdoin College Invitational. Tufts will cap off their first half slate at the Ballston Spa Country Club in Saratoga Springs, New York to compete in the Skidmore College Fall Invitational.
