Men's Golf Ends Day One of Williams College Fall Invitational in Seventh

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA (September 19, 2026) – The Tufts University men's golf team finished off the two-round first day of the Williams College Fall Invitational at Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, MA. The Jumbos ended day one in seventh place out of 17 total teams.
 
Senior JP Noone lead the way for the Jumbos in the opening day of action, ending the first 36 holes with a dead even par total. Noone began the morning by starting on hole number eight due to the shotgun start and picked up two birdies in his first two holes. The Weston native went on to card 11 pars throughout the rest of the round and finished with a three over par score of 74 through 18 holes. Noone found a whole new gear in round number two, shooting an eye-catching three under par score of 68 with eight total birdies across the second set of 18 holes to currently be tied for fourth individually out of 89 golfers.
 
Senior Brendan Roy put together a strong first day as well, as he currently sits tied for 10th individually with a three over mark. Roy shot his best round of the day in the opening 18 holes as he earned a one under par score of 70, with an impressive four under par score of 31 on the course's front nine. The senior recorded just two bogey holes in the first round. The Sterling native shot a four over par score of 75 in the second round with two total birdies.
 
Sophomore Jason Zawtocki began the event with a solid two over par scorecard in the morning round. Zawtocki had to regroup after a double bogey on his first hole, tallying 13 par or better marks in his next 14 holes. In round two, the sophomore shot a seven over par scoring of 78 to finish day one tied for 37th individually.
 
Junior William Ainsworth and first year Achal Agnihotri rounded out the lineup for the Jumbos in the invitational. Both golfers ended day one with a 14 over par stroke total through 36 holes. Ainsworth began his day with a seven over par score of 78 in the morning round before shooting the same exact score in the afternoon round. Agnihotri began the long day with a five over par score of 76 through the first 18 holes before earning a nine over par scorecard of 80 in the final round of the day. Both golfers are currently tied for 60th individually.
 
The Jumbos will look to move up the leaderboard in the third and final round of the Williams College Fall Invitational tomorrow morning as the group will tee off at 9 AM.
