Biography

2018 (Junior): Played three games in goal...stopped all five shots he faced in one half played against Merchant Marine in NCAA second round.

2017 (Sophomore): Shmerler started all 19 games in his sophomore season totaling 556:45 minutes..he made 151 saves and gave up 113 goals giving him a save percentage of 57.2%.. ended with a 11-3 winning record in the 2017 season..was selected for the All-New England 3rd team having the 2nd highest save percentage in the NESCAC and came in 3rd in total wins with 11 in the NESCAC rankings.

2016 (Freshman): As a freshman, Shmerler played in five games making one start as the team finished 20-3, won the NESCAC Tournament, and made it to the NCAA Tournament Championship...played a total of 100:26 minutes.. made 18 saves and gave up 13 goals with a save percentage of 58.1%..ended with a 1-0 winning record.

Before Tufts: Was on the hockey and lacrosse teams at Gilman High School.

Personal: Son of John and Laura...has two siblings, Sarah and Natalie...father, John, played golf at Bucknell.
