Results
WESTFIELD -- Senior Jesse Faller (Burlington,
MA) ran to wins in the 800 meters and 1,500 meters for the
Tufts University men's outdoor track & field team on Saturday
at Westfield State College's Jerry Gravel Classic. Faller's 20
points scored were more than half of Tufts' 35 total, which placed
them seventh out of 16 teams at the meet.
Faller won two tight races. He beat UConn's Alex Bennatan by
0.86 to win the 1,500 meter run with a 3:59.38 time. His time of
1:56.22 in the 800 meters won in a photo finish, with Wesleyan's
Chris Coleman second at 1:56.29.
Junior Alex Gresham (Milton, MA) scored six
points for the Jumbos with a third-place effort in the hammer
throw. He was the top Division III finisher with 166'7" (50.77m)
distance. Tufts also got a fourth from freshman long jumper
Gbola Ajayi (Lagos, Nigeria). He went 20'7"
(6.27m), also the best for Division III at the meet.
Tufts hosts the annual Snowflake Classic next Saturday in
Somerville.
