CAMBRIDGE -- In the last invitational prior to the start of the
championship season, the Tufts University men's outdoor track &
field team was at MIT on Saturday for a non-scoring meet. The
Jumbos took first place in six events.
Senior Trevor Donadt (Northborough, MA) won
both hurdle events for Tufts. He finished the 110 in 15.31 seconds
and the 400 in 55.78 seconds. The Jumbos also got a sprint victory
from senior Marc Soskin (Minnetonka, MN) in the
100 with a time of 11.63 seconds to top a field of 13 runners.
The distance highlight of the day was junior Sam
Hutchinson (Cumberland, ME) finishing out in front of 11
other runners in the 5,000-meter run with a 15:49.20 time.
In the field events, senior Jon Pak (London,
ENG) went the furthest in the long jump with 20'7" (6.27m)
distance. Junior Alex Gresham (Milton, MA) took
the honors in the hammer throw, hurling a best of 163'1" (49.71m).
He was also the top Jumbo finisher in the discus throw at 127'5"
(38.84m).
Next Saturday (Apr. 24), Tufts hosts the NESCAC Championships at
Dussault Track.
