Freshman Matt Rand was fifth in the 5K
 

SOMERVILLE -- The Tufts University men's outdoor track & field team hosted and tied for 15th place at the 2010 New England Division 3 Championships at Dussault Track. The meet started on Thursday and ran through Saturday. Williams College won the title with 159 points. Tufts scored 15.

The top Tufts finish was by senior Isaiah Paramore (Charlotte, NC) with a fourth in the long jump, landing a 22'5 1/4" (6.84m) mark. Freshman Matt Rand (Cape Elizabeth, ME) was fifth in the 5,000 meter run, crossing the finish line with a 15:07.33 time.

The Jumbos accumulated their other five points with one seventh-place finish and four eighths.

Tufts is at Northeastern next weekend (May 7-8) for the Open New England Championship meet.
