SPRINGFIELD -- A handful of Tufts University men's outdoor track
& field athletes competed at the 2010 ECAC Division 3
Championships hosted by Springfield College on Thursday and Friday.
The Jumbos scored 3.5 points to place 42nd at the meet.
Freshman Brad Nakanishi (Scarborough, ME) and
senior Bobby Bardin (Longmeadow, MA) both had
seventh-place finishes for Tufts. Nakanishi cleared 14'11" (4.55m)
in the pole vault and Bardin scored 5,055 points in the decathlon.
His best event was the 1,500 meters, where he scored 659 points
with a 4:43.33 time.
Junior Alex Gresham (Milton, MA) also had a
10th place performance in the hammer throw, reaching 165'6"
(50.44m). Junior Sam Read (Barkhamsted, CT) tied
for 11th in the pole vault at 14'5 1/4" (4.40m).
Next Friday is the annual "Last Chance" Meet hosted by MIT,
giving athletes one last opportunity to post NCAA qualifying
marks.
