COLUMBUS, Oh. - Junior Connor Rose (Irvine, CA) and sophomore Jeff Marvel (Naples, FL) of the Tufts University men's indoor track & field team competed in the 800 meters at the 2011 NCAA Division III Championship Meet on Friday night at Capital University.
Running the 800 preliminaries, Rose ran a 1:54.99 in the first heat. Marvel crossed the finish line in 1:55.66 for the second heat. Neither time was among the eight qualifiers for the final, which will be run on Saturday at 6:30 pm. Officially, Rose finished 10th in the nation in the event and Marvel was 12th.
Both Jumbos were making their first appearances at the NCAA meet. The race concluded the 2010-11 indoor season at Tufts.
