First year Eliza Flynn lost only one game in singles and doubles combined

LUTHERVILLE, MD - The Tufts women's tennis team will play Johns Hopkins University in an NCAA regional final tomorrow after defeating Hunter College, 5-0, on Saturday in a second round match played at Goucher College. Tufts (15-5) set a new school record for wins with the result.
Sophomore Lauren Hollender (Newton, MA) and first year Eliza Flynn (Hamilton, MA) were winners in both singles and doubles for the Jumbos, who are making their 11th consecutive NCAA appearance. Hollender combined with first year Samantha Gann (Massapequa, NY) to win 8-1 in third doubles, and then breezed to a 6-1, 6-0 win in fifth singles. Flynn and sophomore Lindsay Katz (Baltimore, MD) were 8-1 winners in doubles, and then Flynn was first off in singles with her shutout victory at #4.
The top Tufts doubles pair of senior Julia Browne (Old Brookville, NY) and first year Shelci Bowman (Dallas, TX) completed the 3-0 sweep of doubles with an 8-4 win.
The winner of tomorrow's Tufts-Johns Hopkins match will advance to the NCAA quarterfinals to be played May 24 in Claremont, California. Coach Kate Bayard's Jumbos are looking for the first quarterfinal berth in team history. In the May 5 Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll, the Jumbos are #5 and the Blue Jays are #9.
