Andrews 11th in 10,000 Meters on First Day of NCAA Men's Track & Field Championships

CLAREMONT, CA - Opening day action at the 2012 NCAA Div. 3 Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday saw Tufts University juniors Tyler Andrews (Concord, MA) and Mike Blair (Wellesley, MA) competing.

Andrews ran in the 10,000 meters final and finished 11th in the country with his 31:18.41 time. Blair participated in the first five events of the decathlon. He currently stands 18th overall with 3,233 points heading into the final five events on Friday. His 6'2 3/4" (1.90m) best effort in the high jump scored 714 points for sixth place.

Andrews and Blair are both at the NCAA meet for the first time. Action continues through Saturday. The meet is being hosted by Claremont McKenna-Harvey Mudd-Scripps Colleges.
