Andrews 11th in 10,000 Meters at NCAA Division 3 Men's Track & Field Championships

CLAREMONT, CA - Action during the first two days at the 2012 NCAA Div. 3 Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday and Friday saw Tufts University juniors Tyler Andrews (Concord, MA), Mike Blair (Wellesley, MA) and Jeff Marvel (Naple, FL) competing.

Andrews ran in the 10,000 meters final on Thursday and finished 11th in the country with his 31:18.41 time.

Blair participated in the decathlon on Thursday and Friday. He accumulated 5,880 points to place 20th in the event. On Thursday, his 6'2 3/4" (1.90m) best effort in the high jump scored 714 points for sixth place. The 715 points that he scored with a time of 16.16 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles on Friday was his top score of the 10 events.

Marvel ran in the preliminaries of the NCAA 800 meters on Friday. His time of 1:54.90 did not qualify for the final and was 19th overall. The top nine advanced to Saturday's final.

Tufts concludes NCAA action on Saturday when junior Gbola Ajayi (Lagos, Nigeria) competes in the triple jump.

The meet is being hosted by Claremont McKenna-Harvey Mudd-Scripps Colleges.
