BRUNSWICK, ME - Despite only competing with about half of the team, the Jumbo men's track & field squad assembled several high finishes en route to placing third at the Bowdoin Invitational on Saturday.
Bowdoin won the meet with 200 points. RPI was second with 159 while the Jumbos' 108 points was good enough for third. Springfield rounded out the scoring with 81.
Tufts' lone victory of the day came in the 800, as freshman Mitch Black (Brunswick, ME) clocked a 1:57.16 to win by a wide margin. His classmate Veer Bhalla (West Windsor, NJ) placed third in a time of 2:00.60.

Hoover Hankerson was also able to place third in the 60 meter dash, clocking a time of 7.34 seconds. Yet another freshman recorded a stellar performance as Woody Butler recorded a time of 52.38 seconds in the 400 to place second.
The sophomore duo of Alex Sheltzer (St. David's, PA) and Alex Schifter (Great Neck, NY) finished second and third in the 600 with times of 1:25.91 and 1:26.24 respectively.

Next Saturday, coach Ethan Barron's team will make the short trip to Boston University to compete in the Terrier Classic.
