BRIDGEWATER - Members of the throwing team represented the Tufts outdoor track & field team at the Bears Invitational hosted by Bridgewater State University on Saturday.
Senior Corey Burns was the top Jumbo in three events. He had top 10 finishes in each. His 133'7" (40.71m) hammer throw was fifth at the meet. In the shot put, Burns was sixth at 39'9 3/4" (12.13m). He took eighth in the discus throw with 112'10" (34.40m) distance.
Junior James Aronson was eighth in the hammer throw for his best peformance with a 124'9" (38.03m) heave. He was also in the shot put (32'9 1/2" - 9.99m) and discus throw (107'2" - 32.66m), where he was 13th.
Freshman Jeffrey Brown was entered in the shot put, hammer throw and javelin throw. The only Jumbo in the jav, he took 13th with a 138'1" (42.08m) launch. He heaved the hammer 110'7" (33.72m) and had a 33'2 1/2" (10.12m) shot put.
The meet was non-scoring.
