Josh Etkind qualified for the 110 hurdles final

MEDFORD - Ten Jumbos were in action on Friday at the New England Division III Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Springfield College.

Freshman Josh Etkind qualified for the final in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.61 seconds. He was the seventh of eight qualifiers who moved on to Saturday's final.

Sophomore Peter Clark just missed a spot in the finals of the 100 meters. His 11.21 time in the preliminaries on Friday tied with Coast Guard's Tyler Templeton. Clark lost a run-off for the eighth and final qualifying spot.

Tufts had six runners in the 100 meters overall, with senior Bryson Hoover-Hankerson taking 10th behind Clark in 11.24 seconds.

Sophomore John Greenberg ran 17th in the 10,000 meters with a 33:10.92 time. Freshman Henry Hintermeister was 20th in the 110-hurdles heats. Senior Michael Paloian was entered in the hammer throw, but fouled on each of his three attempts.
