Men's Track & Field Hosts, Wins Annual Snowflake Classic at Dussault Track

James Gregoire was second at the meet and earned a national ranking in the long jump

MEDFORD - Sophomore Kevin Quisumbing won the shot put with an outdoor personal record on Saturday to help Tufts University men's track & field earn the team title at their own Snowflake Classic held at the Dussault Track.

Quisumbing had a best toss of 49'11 ¾" (15.23m) to win the event, which had 40 entries. The mark ranks 12th in Division III early in the 2018 outdoor season as of 8:30 p.m. Saturday night. The win is his second outdoors and fifth overall during two seasons with the Jumbos.

Senior co-captain Drew DiMaiti was a part of two Tufts victories. He remained undefeated in the 400-meter hurdles three meets into the outdoor season, winning today with a mark of 54 seconds flat. He also anchored the winning 4x400-meter relay including sophomore Billy Witrock, junior Thomas Doyle and sophomore Jackson Mihm. Their time of 3:22 flat is the team's season-best thus far and is #15 on the national list.

The Jumbo 4x100 relay ran second with a 42.71 time that is 27th nationally. The foursome was junior Brandon Levenstein, junior Anthony Kardonsky, junior Tommy Miller and freshman OJ Armstrong.

Indoor high jump national champion Stefan Duvivier competed for the first time outdoors and cleared 6'6" (1.98m) for third at the meet and #14 on the national list. Junior James Gregoire popped a 21'8" (6.60m) in the long jump for a runner-up showing at the meet and the #24 DIII mark. Junior Dylan Jones also put his name on the national list (#26) with a 32:14.41 in the 10,000 meters.

Other Jumbo runner-up finishes came from freshman Aiden Lewis in the 800 (1:58.02) and junior Ben Wallace in the pole vault (13'5 ¼" – 4.10m).

Tufts won the meet with a 153 team score, followed by WPI at 119. Twenty men's teams scored at the meet overall.

The Jumbos will host a quad meet with MIT, Bates and RPI next Saturday. There's potential for some to compete at Princeton's Sam Howell Invite on Friday night as well.
