PRINCETON, N.J. – A trio of men's outdoor track & field Jumbos made the trek to New Jersey to compete at the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton University on Friday night.
Juniors Colin Raposo, Christian Swenson and Hiroto Watanabe were all in action, with Watanabe running in the 800, and Raposo and Swenson competing in the 1,500 meters field.
Raposo and Swenson both recorded season-best times. Raposo's 3:57.17 in the 1,500 was 29th out of 57 in the race and is the #30 ranked time in Division III as of Saturday morning. Swenson was close behind with a 3:57.65 finish, 32nd in the field and a #36 national ranking.
Watanabe ran 1:53.92 in the 800, 35th in the 62-man race. He did not improve upon his season-best mark of 1:53.81 established at the Silfen Invitational last weekend.
The Jumbos host their final meet of the season on Saturday with the Sunshine Classic at Dussault Traci.
