CAMBRIDGE – The Tufts University men's track and field team competed in the Gordon Kelly Invitational, hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), on Saturday afternoon.
Head coach Joel Williams' Jumbo squad had entries in nine events at the non-scoring meet.
Freshman Carter Rosewell posted a new collegiate best with a time of 7.32 in the 60 meter finals, which was good for fourth place.
Freshman Sawyer Wilson grabbed the top spot in the 600-meter finals. His time of 1:26.97 was over a second faster than second-place runner and is a collegiate best.
In the mile finals, freshman Oliver Printy finished fifth with a time of 4:51.63 which is a collegiate best. His time earned him a fifth-place finish.
In the high jump finals, freshman Alex Lemieux posted a 1.85 meters (6'0 3/4") mark. That earned him an eighth-place finish. Rosewell finished ninth in the event with a mark of 1.80 meters (5'10 3/4") which is a new collegiate best.
Freshman Hunter Farrell earned a fourth-place finish in the pole vault finals with a mark of 4.25 meters (13'11 1/4").
In the long jump finals, sophomore Ben Stein posted a mark of 6.25 meters (20'6 1/4"), which placed him in seventh. Freshman Amos Trinidad finished eighth with a jump totaling 6.13 meters (20'1 1/2").
Senior Ranjit Thomas earned a third-place finish for the triple jump after posting a mark of 12.77 meters (41'10 3/4"), which is a new personal record.
Sophomore Noble Ohakam posted a mark of 13.32 meters (43'8 1/2") in the shot put finals. That was good for sixth in the event.
Junior Dylan Daisey was the top-Jumbo placer in the weight throw finals. His mark of 15.29 meters (50'2") was good for sixth place.
The Jumbos return to action on Saturday when they head to Springfield College for the Triangle Classic. Action is slated to start at 11 am.
