NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - Freshman Luke Botsford qualified for the finals in both the 200 and 400 meters as the Tufts men's outdoor track & field team competed at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships on Friday.
Botsford ran 21.89 to qualify fourth in the 200, with Tufts sophomore Alex Lemieux also finishing as one of the eight qualifiers with a 22.04 time (seventh). Botsford also qualified fourth in the 400 meters with a 48.92 mark on Friday. The finals on Saturday are at 1:30 pm for the 400 and 3:10 pm for the 200.
Sophomore Willy White was also in action for Tufts and finished the 110-meter hurdles in 15.81 seconds for 16th place in the preliminaries.
Tufts did not score as a team on Friday. The University of Rhode Island was leading the men's competition with a 48.33 score after one day.
