NORTON - Sophomore Harry Rienecker-Found posted the nation's second-best high jump early in the 2021-22 season as the Tufts men's indoor track & field team won Wheaton College's Lyons Invitational on Friday.
Rienecker-Found cleared 6'8 ¾" (2.05m) to win the event, and improve upon the 6'6 ¼" (1.99m) PR that he hit last weekend at home. He's tied for second in DIII as of 8 pm Friday evening.
The Jumbos doubled the field in the team scoring, compiling 165 points. Second-place Mass.-Dartmouth scored 77 and third-place Coast Guard finished at 60. Seven teams were in the meet overall.
Junior Alex Lemieux nearly matched his school record (6.86) in the 60-meter dash today with a time of 6.88 seconds to win the final. Tufts also had an excellent meet in the longer sprints, with Luke Botsford timing 22.70 in the 200 and Andrii Campbell finishing the 400 in 50.98 seconds. Those winning times are the 28th and 35th best marks in the country, respectively.
Jumbos posted a pair of top 30 Division III times in the 800 meters as well. Marcus Hardy (pictured) won the race in 1:58.98 (#27) and junior Sawyer Wilson was close behind in a 1:59.23 time that ranks 30th.
Junior Hunter Farrell won the pole vault with a 13'9 ¼" (4.20m) best effort. Alex Friedman had a top freshman performance for Tufts with a 4:29.68 in the mile. Alex Zsikla won the triple jump with 42'6 ¾" (12.97m) length.
The Jumbos dig into the season next weekend when they host the Branwen Smith-King Invitational and also compete at Boston University's John Thomas Terrier Classic.
