BOSTON - The Tufts University men's indoor track & field team ran a handful of season-best times today at the 2022 Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
Luke Botsford ran 48.65 in the 400 meters, the team's best time this season and his indoor PR. Converted to a 49.43 due to BU's banked track, it's ranked #14 nationally. He ran 24th in a huge 196-man field today.
Sam Gatti (pictured) finished his best-ever 5,000 meters today with a 14:45.70 time. He was a strong 11th out of 72 finishers. The 14:55.18 converted mark is 40th in Division III.
Nick Delaney, making his way back after a long lay-off, ran a team season-best 1:55.68 in the 800 today. Alex Friedman's 4:20.13 for the mile was the best Jumbo mark of 2021-22 as well. Classmate Jack Taylor ran 2:29.03 for the 1,000 meters, another team best and 23rd out of 66 at BU.
Alex Lemieux had a pair of top 20 finishes with a 7.04 in the 60 (14th) and a 21.75 in the 200 (20th).
The only field competitor in action for Tufts today at BU, Harry Rienecker-Found cleared 6'7" (2.01m) in the high jump for third place among 26 entries.
