With five games remaining in their regular season, Tufts is 4-11-2 overall and 4-7-2 in the league. They are tied with the Camels (5-9-3, 4-7-2) in NESCAC.
After two scoreless periods tonight, the teams combined for all four goals in the game during the third period. The Camels scored twice in the first four minutes of the third period, with goals by Paul Capozzi at 1:33 and Steven Senese at 3:29 giving the hosts a 2-0 lead.
Freshman Harrison Bazianos made a great individual effort on Tufts' first goal. After forcing a turnover in the left corner of the Camel end, he retrieved the puck behind the net and circled into the high slot where he lifted a shot past Camel goalie Sean Dynan at 9:21 of the third.
As the clock dipped under five minutes, Tufts got the equalizer. Jacob Iida collected the puck inside the left point and made his way behind the net while Andrew Maynard parked his 6'3", 215-pound frame right in front of the net. As Iida came around the back of the net, he dished to Maynard for the big fella's first collegiate goal tying the game.
Jumbo sophomore goalie Peyton Durand (pictured), a transfer from Skidmore, made 39 saves as the Camels out-shot the Jumbos 41-30. He was at his best in the second period with 19 saves.
Dynan stopped 28 shots in the Connecticut College end, 11 in the first period.
In three-on-three overtime, Tufts had more possession but couldn't get the game-winner. Durand gloved a shot by Senese as he charged in from the right side with three minutes and change on the clock.
