Jumbo Men's Track and Field Finishes Competition Saturday at NEICAAA Championships

DEDHAM, MA (May 13, 2023) --  The Tufts University men's track and field squad finished action at the 2023 New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championships Saturday afternoon, highlighted by a strong finish by Carter Rosewell in the decathlon. 

Rosewell finished with a personal-best total in the decathlon of 6269 points, as he posted career-bests in the discus throw of 29.31 meters while running a new PR in the 1500 meter run of 4:47.11 to finish four. He was also second in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.82, while also getting over 4.00 meters in the pole vault to finish third. With the point total, Rosewell moved into the Top 20 in the country. 

In the 200 meter finals, Alex Lemieux finished sixth overall after running a 21.73. In the 800 meters, Marcus Hardy led the way with a time of 1:53.96 for 13th place, while Evan Ensslin was 15th overall after crossing the line in 1:54.52. 

Tufts will head to the MIT Qualifier on Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. in the final chance for some Jumbos to improve their times and marks before the NCAA Championship qualifiers are announced next weekend.
