BOSTON, MA (December 7, 2024) - The Tufts University men's track and field team began the 2024-25 indoor season with solid showings at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener at Boston University in the Track and Tennis Center on the campus of BU and the 2024 TRACK at New Balance Early Bird Invite in Boston.
Neither meet featured the full Jumbos roster, but a few athletes would compete at each in anticipation of the 2025 indoor season.
Junior
Amokrane Aouchiche had a great run at the Track and Tennis Center at BU. Competing in the 5000m run, Aouchiche was the only Jumbo on the men's side at the Colyear-Danville Season Opener. He ran a great race, finishing with a 14:42.83 for 14th in his heat and 179th overall in a highly competitive field with mostly Division I athletes.
Freshman
Jonah Reisner placed highest out of the five Jumbos at the TRACK at New Balance in the 5000m run. The debutant finished with a 14:51.42 which placed him fifth overall in the category. Other than two runners from Williams on the podium, Reisner finished in front of all other NESCAC competitors.Â
Six seconds behind Reisner was junior
Calvin Cummings. Cummings finished with a time of 14:57.86 to place just outside the top 10 in 11th. Just about four seconds after Cummings crossed the line, sophomore Jacob Fippin completed his race with a time of 15:01.85 for a 14th place finish. The three Tufts runners in the top 15 was tied with Williams for the most of any NESCAC team.
Junior

Aidan Max rounded out the day for the Jumbos, finishing in 40th place overall with a 15:36.79.
