Carter Rosewell finished the opening day of the heptathlon in first place, ahead of his school record pace with 2845 points in action from the 2024 New England Division III Championships, hosted inside Gantcher Field House Friday evening.
Rosewell concluded the day in first place after a strong day of action, as he leads Middlebury College's Caleb Smith by 95 points heading into the second day of action. Rosewell set the school record in the heptathlon earlier this season with 4937 points, but was at 2752 points after the first four events that instance.

Cole Anderson have a strong day, as he was ninth including two top-10 finishes to end the afternoon with 2203 points. In the opening competition, Rosewell ran a 7.25 second time in the 60 meter dash for third place got 796 points, while Anderson just missed his PR with a time of 7.75 seconds.
In the long jump, Rosewell chalked up a massive personal-best mark as he won the event with a leap of 7.08 meters. The mark cleared his previous best of 6.93 meters, while earning him 833 points for the effort and pushing him into first place. Anderson was seventh in the long jump with a personal-best 5.89 meter leap.
In the shot put, Anderson was strong with his heave of 11.19 meters for fourth place, picking up 557 points, while Rosewell was sixth with a 11.00 meter mark. His total added 546 points to his ledger.
In the final event of the day, Rosewell was once again strong as he finished second with a leap of 1.85 meters for 670 points. Anderson tallied a new personal-best height of 1.58 meters to tally 449 points.
The second and final day of the multi event will happen Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in Gantcher Field House, as the competitors will take on the 60m hurdles, pole vault and 1000 meter run to finish up the event.
