CAMBRIDGE, MA (April 13, 2024) – The Tufts University women's sailing team is in 10th place after the first day of the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association Team Race Championship on the Charles River Saturday.
Due to high winds, the first round-robin competition was not completed on Saturday. Tufts competed in eight races and lost each of them to Boston College, Bowdoin, Brown, Dartmouth, Harvard, MIT, Roger Williams and Yale.
Tufts has one race remaining against Coast Guard to complete the first round robin. The Jumbos will not advance to the second round-robin which will feature the top 6 teams.
Yale leads the regatta thus far with an 8-0 record, followed by MIT (6-2), Boston College (4-3), Brown (4-3), Harvard (4-4) and Dartmouth (4-4). The teams are competing for the Legler Trophy, named for the legendary Tufts coach Ken Legler who retired last year.

Sunday's second day of the Championship is set to start at 10 AM.
