SOUTH HADLEY, MA (May 4, 2024) -- The Tufts University men's track and field squad got a win in the 200 meter dash by senior
Luke Botsford, highlighting the second and final day of competition at the 2024 New England Division III Championships at Mount Holyoke College Saturday.
Botsford rolled in the 200 meters with a time of 21.61 to earn 10 points for the Jumbos, who finished second on the weekend with 78.5 points. Botsford also finished fifth in the finals of the 100 meter dash, as he raced to a time of 10.97 seconds.
The relays were very strong for Tufts on Saturday, as

Josh Wilkie,
Noah Turner and Botsford took second place with a time of 41.40 just behind MIT. In the 4x400 meter relay, the Jumbos quartet of Lemieux, Turner, Noah Chowdhury and Botsford ran a 3:14.83 for a season-best time, also ranking No. 17 on the NCAA Division III performance list.
In the 110m hurdles, Wilkie ran a 15.06 second time to take fifth place in the finals. In the 400 meters, first-year
Neil Chowdhury led the Jumbos with a 49.82, taking 13th place, while junior
Ethan Forde clocked in at 51.17 seconds for 23rd place.
In the 400m hurdles, sophomore
Cam McLeod stayed hot as he posted a time of 54.42 for fourth place, while junior
Jay Sharma ran a season-best time in the 400m hurdles of 55.58 for eighth place to get into the scoring. Sophomore Marten Tropp was 10th after running a 56.28, and senior
Brian Kwarteng registered a new personal-best time of 57.71 for 18th place.
First-year
Sam Kurian wan a 1:54.87 in the 800 meters for 14th place, while classmate
Simon Donovan clocked a new personal-best time in the 1500 meters of 3:59.01 for 12th place.
In the discus throw, senior
Petey Lemmon continued his strong form with a new personal-best toss of 44.52 meters for eighth place and one point. In the high jump, senior Harry Riebecker-Found chalked up a new season-best height of 1.99 meters, clearing the height on his first attempt. The height is 45th best in NCAAs after the day.
Junior
Edward Kiboma was fifth in the high jump with his height of 1.99 meters, while first-year
Sami Witta got into the scoring as he tied for eighth place with a final height of 1.89 meters. Sophomore
Sahr Matturi was 14th in the triple jump after leaping to a mark of 12.98 meters.
Tufts will compete at the NEICAAA Championships Friday at 4 p.m. in Worcester, MA at the College of Holy Cross.
