CAMBRIDGE, MA (January 31, 2025) - The Tufts University men's track and field team went down the road to compete in the Harvard Invitational on Friday afternoon, sending a small contingent to contend in several events throughout the day.
First up for Tufts was the duo of junior
Quinn Hampson and sophomore
Sam Kurian in the 1000m run. Both Jumbos set new personal best times in the event, with Hampson setting a new best of 2:32.44 and Kurian setting a new personal record of 2:34.98.Â
Junior
Josh Wilkie was the next to go for the Jumbos, competing in the 60m hurdles. After finishing with an 8.55 in the preliminary round, Wilkie ran for an 8.43 in the final for fifth place.Â
The final two Jumbos to compete were seniors
Edward Kiboma and
Karsten Kropp in the high jump. Kiboma leapt to the highest finish of the day for Tufts, jumping for a 1.97m and second place. Kropp was not far behind, with his 1.87m jump earning him fifth place.Â
It was a strong showing for the platoon of Jumbos at the event, and they will get ready to feature the full squad at the Tufts Cupid Challenge at the Gantcher Center beginning Friday at 3:00 pm.
