ROME, NY (October 5, 2025) - The Tufts University men's golf team maintained their position at the Hamilton College Invitational as they finished the competition in second place on Sunday at the Rome Country Club in New York.
Leading the way for the Jumbos after a slower start in round one was junior
JP Noone. Noone had the best score for the Jumbos on day two, finishing just one stroke above par. A few bogies on the front nine slowed him up at the start, but the junior rallied with two birdies on holes six and eight to stay even at the break. A double bogie on hole 14 was halved by a birdie two holes later to help keep Noone at just a single stroke over par for a combined score of six over par. He finished fifth place overall individually to jump up four places from where he stood yesterday.
Senior
Holden Kittelberger also improved greatly on day two. He finished the second round of competition at two strokes over par. A birdie on hole seven was the lone highlight of the front nine, but two more birdies on holes 10 and 14 helped balance out five total bogies. The senior finished tied for ninth place individually to improve five places between rounds one and two. His combined score of eight over par would help the Jumbos secure the second place position as a team.
Junior
Brendan Roy finished tied for ninth alongside Kittelberger, finishing with the same exact final score. His round two scorecard looked very similar to Kittelberger's as well, with each earning three birdies. Roy's birdies came on holes six, twelve and fifteen and were cancelled out by five bogies and a double bogie to see him drift to three strokes above par.
Junior
Nick McCabe was the final scoring golfer for Tufts in round two, finishing the round at five strokes over par. His day was highlighted by a pair of birdies on holes five and seven. He finished with a final score of eleven strokes over par for 14th place individually.
After a great round one, first year
Jason Zawtocki fell to 14th place individually. His second time around the course was marred by bogies, but also saw him reach birdies on holes five, twelve and seventeen. He finished round two seven strokes over par for a final score of eleven over par.Â
Sophomore
Brooks Cahill-Sanidas competed separately from the team, but still managed a seventh place finish individually after finishing round two at six strokes over par.
The Jumbos will take the winter off as the weather proves itself unviable for golf, and will return in the spring for the continuation of the 2025-26 season.
