Field Hockey's Hannah Biccard Earns NFHCA Regional Player of the Year Honor

MEDFORD, MA (December 11, 2025) – Leading scorer Hannah Biccard of the NCAA Champion Tufts University field hockey team was announced today as the NFHCA Region II Player of the Year.

Biccard becomes just the second Jumbo player to receive this award. Margi Scholtes was the Regional Player of the Year for 2009. As the Regional award recipient, Biccard is now in the running for NFHCA Division III National Player of the Year honors.

With 17 goals and six assists for 40 points in 22 games this season, Biccard scored the most goals by a Tufts player since 2010 and had the most points by a Jumbo since 2021. She also led the New England Small College Athletic Conference in goals and points.

Biccard scored the game-winning goal one minute into overtime for Tufts' 2-1 victory against Johns Hopkins University in the NCAA Championship Game. She also assisted the lone goal in the Jumbos' 1-0 victory against Christoper Newport University in the national semifinals. Selected as the Most Outstanding Player at the NCAA "Final Four", Biccard also finished Tufts' 3-1 NCAA Quarterfinal win against Bates College with a goal and an assist.

Earlier in the year, Biccard tied the school record for goals in a game with five in Tufts' 8-0 victory at Colby College on September 13. She won the conference's Player of the Week award as a result. She then recorded a seven-game goal-scoring streak from September 21 to October 11, and notched two goals in a win at the University of New England on October 21. She added two assists to Tufts' 3-2 victory versus Amherst College in the NESCAC Quarterfinals on November 1, and posted two goals with an assist in the NCAA first round game versus Dean University on November 12. Tufts tied the record for goals in an NCAA game that day with an 11-0 win against the Bulldogs.

Biccard was named to the NFHCA All-Region first team this fall, as well as to the NESCAC All-Conference first team.

The Jumbos finished the 2025 season with a 19-3 record, tying the school record for victories.
