MEDFORD, MA (March 12, 2025) -- The Tufts University men's squash team was honored with three players on the 2025 All-New England Small College Athletic Conferene (NESCAC) squads unveiled on Wednesday, as senior sophomores
Aarav Gill and
Nachiket Desai were First Teamers while senior
Kerwin Teh was a Second Team honoree.
The Jumbos finished 11-10 on the season, along with the nation's No. 12 ranking after the College Squash Association (CSA) Team Championships this past weekend. The trio of Jumbos honored were the top three players in the lineup all season, as Desai took over at the top spot mid-year and thrived. Desai finished 8-12 overall and finished with seven wins at the top position, while Gill was 11-5 at No. 2 throughout the season for Tufts. Gill was 7-3 in his final 10 matches during his sophomore season.
Teh was a mainstay for the Jumbos at the No. 3 position in 2024-25, as the emotional leader of the team was 11-9 overall and 9-7 at the No. 3 spot. Desai had a strong stretch of wins through the season with victories over Amherst, MIT and Middlebury, while Gill had a nine-match win streak from January 17 through February 9. He also posted a win against Williams this past weekend in the CSA Championships finale.
Teh won six of seven through the middle part of the year for the Jumbos, and had a season-high four-match winning streak from January 31 to February 8.
Trinity junior Joachim Chuah Han Wen was named the NESCAC Player of the Year. Bates newcomer Dennis Welte was voted as the NESCAC Rookie of the Year, while the Trinity coaching staff was selected as the NESCAC Coaching Staff of the Year by their peers for the second year in a row.
