ATLANTA, GA. (March 22, 2025) - The Tufts University men's outdoor track and field team finished up their first outdoor meet of 2025 with a solid day of performances on day two at the Emory Spring Break Classic on Saturday.
Junior
Sahr Matturi started the day off with a Jumbo finish in the long jump, taking fourth place in the pit with a leap of 7.00m. It was a solid mark to start the season for Matturi, coming just 10cm shy of his personal best.
On the track, Junior
Josh Wilkie kept his hot indoor season going in the sunshine as he took second place in the 110m hurdles. His mark of 14.55 was just over a tenth of a second shy of his personal best.
Junior Will Cusato took third in the 800m run, finishing the event in 1:54.94. Just behind him was sophomore
Sam Kurian, who took fifth place with a 1:56.02. The performance rounded out a strong day all around for the Jumbos.
Tufts will continue their outdoor season at home as they host the Tufts University Snowflake Classic on the Ellis Oval and Zimmerman Field on Saturday, March 29.
