NORTHAMPTON, MA (April 11, 2025) - The Tufts University men's track began the Carla Coffey Invitational with a great performance in the abridged Day One of competition at Smith College in Northampton on Friday.
Junior
Randy Hamilton delivered a great start to the first day of competition with a resounding win in the javelin. Hamilton earned first place by over a meter, setting a winning mark of 54.03m. Senior
Ross Miller also landed a podium place with a third place finish and a mark of 50.32m.
First year
Alejandro Rincon took third place in the pole vault, setting the 84th best mark in the NCAA Division III with a jump of 4.40m to set a new personal best.
The final field event of the day saw four Jumbos finish in sequential order in the hammer throw. Senior
Eric Meyer led the herd of Jumbos, taking second place in the event with a toss of 50.49m.
Tufts will return for the second day of competition tomorrow at 10:00 am, with the rest of the field events and the entirety of the track events to still be run at the Carla Coffey Invitational.
