MEDFORD, MA (April 18, 2025) - The Tufts University men's track and field team competed in day one of the decathlon at the Tufts Sunshine Classic on Friday afternoon, finishing well in a small pool of competitors.

In the 100m dash saw the two competing Jumbos finish within two tenths of each other, as first year Dylan Moreno took second with an 11.64. Cole Anderson was hot on his heels as the senior finished third with an 11.76.

Moreno crushed the competition in the long jump, taking first with a mark of 6.20m, 35cm ahead of the rest. Anderson took third with a 5.84m.

Anderson hit his stride in the shot put, finding a monstrous throw of 11.84m to win the category. Moreno was a bit behind him in third with a 9.95m. Moreno would tie for first place soon after in the high jump, leaping to a mark of 1.69m.

The final category of the day, the 400m dash, saw Moreno take first place once again. The rookie ran to a 53.30, eeking out a win over second place just four hundredths behind.

The remaining decathlon events will be ran tomorrow along with the remainder of the individual events as the Tufts University Sunshine Classic continues.
