Tufts Takes Strong Finish to Maintain Trajectory at Commonwealth Invite

AMHERST, MA (April 14, 2025) - The Tufts University men's track and field team were represented well by the small platoon of athletes sent out west to compete in the UMass Julie LaFreniere Commonwealth Invite last weekend.

Senior Noah Turner picked up a fifth place finish in the 200m dash to start the day. He finished in a personal best time of 21.82 in a field of Division I, II and III competition.

Junior Quinn Hampson followed up his teammate with a win in the 1500m run. Hampson missed out on his personal best time by an agonizing three tenths, but still finished with a great time of 3:56.21.

Fellow junior Cameron McLeod kept the solid day rolling with a fourth place finish in the 110m hurdles with a personal best time of 15.24. Junior Josh Wilkie kept the strong performances in the hurdles going with a second place finish in the 400m hurdles. He also set a new personal best time as he finished the event in 53.56.

The Jumbos ended the day with Luke Benson competing in the triple jump. It was a great finish for the rookie jumper as he leapt to second place. His mark of 14.26m was just under 40cm shy of his personal record.

The Jumbos will be back in action at home as they host the Tufts University Sunshine Classic on April 19.
