MEDFORD, MA (February 13, 2026) -- The No. 11 ranked No. 2 seeded Tufts University men's squash team begins postseason action this weekend at Hamilton College, taking part in the 2026 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Tournament at Little Squash Courts in Clinton, NY.
The Tufts University men's squash team enters postseason play with a 10-5 overall record after navigating one of the nation's most competitive schedules. The Jumbos posted a 5-1 record at home, went 4-3 in road matches, and earned seven victories against nationally ranked opponents during the regular season.
Tufts opened the year against top-tier competition and steadily built momentum through the winter. The Jumbos recorded decisive team wins over MIT and Connecticut College while adding a neutral-site ranked victory against Western Ontario. Strong conference performances followed, including victories over Colby College, Bowdoin College, and Amherst College.
Late-season play further demonstrated Tufts' upward trajectory. The Jumbos earned convincing wins against Williams College and Middlebury College, showcasing depth across the ladder and the ability to secure points in multiple positions.
As a team, Tufts compiled a 79–56 individual match record, reflecting consistent production from top to bottom. The Jumbos earned team wins in every position and demonstrated particular strength in the lower half of the lineup, where key victories often secured match outcomes.
Jared Chin led the team with 10 individual wins, while Santiago Medina Carrillo added nine victories competing in the top position. Shivin Kumar delivered one of the team's most efficient seasons with a 9-3 record, and Aarav Gill posted an impressive 8-2 mark while finishing the regular season on a three-match winning streak.
Depth proved to be a defining strength for the Jumbos. Ali Tarek remained undefeated at 5-0 in limited appearances, while Nachiket Desai and Rohan Valia each contributed key wins across multiple positions. Contributions throughout the middle and lower lineup consistently provided Tufts with a competitive edge in tightly contested matches.
Tufts' No. 2 seed matches the highest in program history. The Jumbos earned the No. 2 seed for the second time in team history (last: 2022). The Jumbos have reached the semifinals three straight years and finished as the NESCAC Runners-Up in 2024 and 2025.
Entering the NESCAC Championship, Tufts brings confidence from seven victories in its final nine matches and a balanced lineup capable of scoring at every position. With proven results against ranked opponents and strong late-season form, the Jumbos are positioned to compete for a top finish in the conference championship field.
Trinity has won all 18 NESCAC Men's Squash titles. Last season, the Bantams faced Tufts in the championship match for the second consecutive year and posted an 8-1 win. Bates, Bowdoin, Tufts, and Williams are the four teams other than Trinity to play in a championship match in tournament history.
Hamilton College is the host of the eight-team NESCAC Squash Championships on February 14-15 at the Little Squash Center. The quarterfinals will be held on Saturday, February 14, starting at 10 a.m. The semifinals and final will be played on Sunday, February 15, with the championship match scheduled for 4 p.m.
