Men's Track & Field Records Top Marks in Six Events at Wheaton Post-Season Qualifier

NORTON, MA (February 21, 2026) - The Tufts University men's indoor track & field team posted the best marks in six events while competing at the Wheaton Post-Season Qualifier on Saturday.

The team's top-ranked performance came from freshman Jack Davis, who won 200 meters in a time of 22.17 seconds. Converted from the flat track at Wheaton to a banked-track time for national ranking purposes, it's a 21.78 mark that is just outside of the top 50 in Division III.

Senior Cullen McCaleb was first out of 17 in the mile run today. His 4:12.47 time converted from the flat track to a banked-track mark of 4:09.29, which just missed improving his national-qualifying time (4:09.24).

Junior Sami Witta won the high jump, clearing 1.97m (6'5 ½") on his best attempt, while sophomore Alejandro Rincon was first in the pole vault with a 4.45m (14'7 ¼") mark. It's his PR and gets him into the Tufts top 10 all-time. Senior Tre Williams added another field event victory with his 16.51m (54'2) distance in the weight throw.

Also on the track today, Tufts junior Brady Kamali won the 400 meters Invitational race with a time of 50.84 seconds. Sophomore Evan Hankins was the fastest of the 14 runners to finish the 800 meters with a 1:59.20 time.

Junior Charlie Fitzpatrick lowered his PR in the 60-meter dash to 7.00 seconds, the team's best time of the year and giving him the #6 all-time ranking among Jumbos. He was second in the race out of 38 sprinters. Davis had a 7.04 time for third place and to get him into Tufts' top 10 for the event. Freshman Zachary Tang tied his season-best (7.09) in the race.

Williams was also the Tufts leader in the shot put with a 13.64m (44'9") best throw that took fifth place. Senior Martin Decker was fourth in the weight throw (14.36m - 47'1 ½").

Freshman Eliot Monick ran third in the 200-meter Invitational (23.02), while Tang was fourth in the race (23.08). Senior Sam Nissen's 24.15 in the open 200 run was his PR. Senior Matt Burdulis added a 9:11.91 for third in the 3000 meters.

The Jumbos will compete at the New England Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships next weekend at The TRACK at New Balance Friday through Sunday (Feb. 27 - Mar. 1).
