BIRMINGHAM, AL (March 12, 2026) – The Tufts University men's track & field team had three top-10 performances on Friday at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships held at the Birmingham Crossplex.
First, senior
Josh Wilkie just missed qualifying for the 60-meter hurdles final with his time of 8.09 seconds. He was third in his heat and ninth overall, with the top two in each heat and the next two fastest advancing. He was just behind the 8.06 run by Wittenberg's Kory Davis for the final qualifying spot. Wilkie earns second team All-American honors for his ninth-place finish, which is his second career All-American award (first indoors). It's his best NCAA finish indoors or outdoors.
Junior
Harris Gulbransen would just miss scoring in the 5000 meters as well. Within the top 10 out of the 20 competitors all race, his finishing time of 14:18.43 was ninth in a straight final. He was just behind the 14:17.84 that Emerson Comer from SUNY Geneseo ran for eighth place (one team point). Gulbransen receives his first All-American honor with a second-team accolade.
The Jumbo distance medley relay of senior
Quinn Hampson, senior
Cam McLeod, junior
Sam Kurian and senior
Cullen McCaleb then finished the night with a 10th-place finish. Their 10:01.61 mark was less than four seconds off the 9:57.15 by RPI that scored eighth. The second-team All-America award is the first national track & field recognition for each member of the foursome.
Though close, Tufts did not score as a team on day one of the NCAA meet.
McCaleb will be in action on Saturday as well, running in the 3000 meters straight final at 6:50 PM EST.
